We had to ditch our expensive Osprey Poco Plus bag as our daughter was getting too big. She is only 2 and weights 30 pounds but that bag was cramping her style even at a smaller size and weight. This Deuter bag easily can fit up to a 50 pound child and has lots of straps to adjust the fit. We are so happy that we can comfortably hike again with our daughter. For the price this backpack is a great value, but we had issues ordering through Amazon as every listing for it falsely advertised that it came with extra carrying case. We went through 3 orders thinking the first time it wasn't put in the packaging, the second maybe we didn't read the description correctly, and the third we were confident we ordered the correct backpack/case combo, but still struck out. Apparently this backpack used to come with an extra carrying bag, through the manufacturer, and every online seller has the stock description and images that show it, but they do not have them anymore. It was definitely a nightmare dealing with Amazon and the different merchants with exchanges and returns, but at the end of the day this kid carrying pack still is the best and most capable we could find.A- plus reviews for the actual backpack, but bad experience ordering. The only downside we can think of is lack of zipper storage There are two large sinch style pockets but we'd definitely prefer a more secure weatherproof storage option like the Osprey had.Super comfy for our daughter and just as comfortable on our backs as the osprey ever was. Its much easier to get our daughter in and out of this backpack as well. Since she likes to walk a lot on her own we are constantly taking her in and out of the pack. One side opens up and we can easily put her in while the bag is still on one of our backs. Our hiking solo the bag is sturdy enough to put on the ground and put her in. Also she feels super secure even without being strapped in and feet being out of stirrups. If we are hikingnsuper technical steep trailers we opt to strap her in, but mosy of the time it seems unnecessary. Thanks Dueter for renewing our ability to hike with our growing toddler
