This is my third Vera Bradley Backpack. The first was not the reactive water resistant material and was a little different style, but I loved it. The second was the reactive material and was a solid color. I have travelled extensively with both. I've flown with them (the decision to go with a water resistant second bag was made because of a soaked bag coming out of the overhead bin--nothing inside was wet but it grossed me out until I could clean and dry it). They fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment. I love the separate compartment for a laptop for security ease. I've taken them to work (the decision to go with a solid color in a professional setting). I've taken them to comic conventions (including Comic-Con) and Disneyland. They are a great size and are comfortable to wear even on very long days. They have so many pockets (there are pockets inside of the pockets) to store body glide, bandaids, extra clothes, a jacket, water bottle, straws, etc. I LOVE these bags. Even after washing them several times and using them nearly everyday, they are still in great condition. I chose to order this bag for two key reasons. First, this one is a little bit of a different style. I like the attached carbiner clip on the outside of the bag. I carry a water bottle with me every where, and at conventions and Disney, I am always worried my bottle will slide out. I clip to the zipper pulls, but this gets annoying. This bag solves this issues. This one also has more outside pockets AND inside pockets. This means the stuff I need (sunglasses, power brick, etc) is all organized. That saves me time and effort. Secondly, this bag blends the fun pattern of my first bag with the material of my plain second bag (which will become just a work bag). I highly recommend these bags. In fact, my best friend flies with one now too. There are some cons about this bag such as the lack of a waist strap and the lack of ability to clip the two straps together on your shoulder to keep them from sliding off. These issues are minor with this bag, but they are worth noting. The material of the bag itself is a con and a pro. It is water resistant and cleans nicely, however, I find that it will create pills and abrasive areas on some of my clothes as I wear them. I am careful about what I wear when carrying these bags, and I often will leave a sweater off until I am in my office and have taken the bag off to avoid damaging the material. This isn't a big enough issue for me to take off a start, but it might be for some so is worth noting.
