I own two pair of the original Tech Pant, love them, but those have, ahem, "gotten smaller" in the last year or so, and I wanted a larger size to wear during the winter. What I like:* Quick-drying nylon material that's also very soft and quiet. Tightly woven, so it's pretty impervious to wind.* Double fabric panels on knees. The panels are well-placed, unlike many other pants with this feature.* Articulated knees and gusseted crotch means they move with me well and are as flexible as I am.* These Tech IIs have roomier thighs and butt compared to the previous Tech I pants.* I expect them to be very durable, just like my old ones. What I'm neutral or unsure about:* Cargo pockets and flap closure for rear pockets. I think I would prefer none.* Mesh front pockets. The bottoms are solid fabric, at least. This might be welcome if using them in warmer weather since the fabric is so heavy, but I use them during the winter. What I don't like:* The material collects cat hair like crazy and removing it is difficult and actually futile.I'm giving them 5 stars because despite the not-as-positive items above, these are the best pants I've found for my purposes.I own a pair of the original Tech Pants and absolutely love them. Bought a pair of the Tech II the same size, tried them on and they fit fine. But I washed them in cold water, and tired them on the 20 minute warm cycle and they actually shrunk, both at the waist and inseam. Didn't think nylon did that.Otherwise the pants are great. They feel a little heavier than the original Tech.I purchased the pants as a gift for my son. The fit and feel are great; however, since I do not know how they will wear (he installs hardwood floors), I can only give a four star. PerhapsI can update as the months go on.R GarnerMy son works outdoors and cannot live without. Cool in the summer and great with an extra layer underneath in the winter. Super durable and washes up nicely.Always use this brand for the type of work I'm in.they last 10 times longer the a pair of jeansPants are comfortable. Only problem is that they are a size smaller in the waist and a size longer in the length.Very comfortable while still utilitarian. Stretches during motion to allow a wide range of activities, including hiking, squatting, carrying multiple objects in pockets. Great fit for me (6'3", 200 lbs, 36-inch waist, 35" inseam). Very versatile; I wear these outdoors and when traveling. Very sturdy in construction. My boyfriend loves these pants. He had one pair and wore them ALL the time so, I had to surprise him with two more. He is a Caver, landscaper and super active and puts these pants through the wringer. He loves the way they fit...and I love the way they look!
