A gift for my husband. He has the oiled brown docs and loves them. I had to get the black so he can wear with darker colors. This style if perfect to wear with jeans. Hits right above the ankle doesn't rub since the opening is a bit wider but not too wide. The heel is not too thick. Easy to maintain with a brush as well as doc martin black wax cleaner. Im sure he'll wear these for a few years since the style is timeless.Arrived very fast! Wonderful 100% genuine supple leather build and famous gum sole is super comfortable out of box. Love them!My favorite casual shoe right now, I absolutely love these!Surprised these for my hubby. He wears them everyday. Church, work, weddings, our date nights, streets, etc. and dang he looks soo good in them tooIts a very nice casual shoe. Vintage styling and well priced. If you need a larger toe box, I reccomend ordering one size larger. As I rose through the ranks of being superintendent, I don't use shovels or climb ladders or walk rebar the way I used to so I don't need Red Wings or Wolverines anymore. So, I started looking for a light-weight comfortable pair of work boots for long days of commercial and industrial construction. I've always loved and trusted Docs, so I tried these. They were everything I was looking for.Comfortable and they've held up well through their first Michigan winter. Definitely needed to invest in some stick-on ankle pads though because the thin leather is unforgiving on the back of your anklesLook great. Feel quality. Just very hard and rigid sole. Does not provide very much traction. Insole also feels like a rock.I’ve bought DM shoes and classic boots previously but this is my first pair of their Chukka / Desert boots. Unlike their regular range, the leather isn’t as stiff so they don’t need breaking in (at least that’s what I’ve found) and after two wears of 6 hours apiece, they were comfortable straight away and I don’t have any blisters. One thing to point out is that the sole is “gummier” than their regular boots and shoes so how long they last remains to be seen.I like them very much and since they were cheaper from Amazon than buying them from my local DM store, a bargain as well. What you'd expect from this famous brand, they are replacing my caterpillar boots and I'm really pleased with them, so well made and comfortable. Buy the Dr Martens dubbin and spend 10 minutes making the boots fit for puddles and rainy outings. Very impressed.Comfortable, hard-wearing, easy to clean/polish, look smart with a variety of outfits/occasions.I wear them to cycle to work and at work all day, then occasionally buff out scuffs so they look decent at the weekend/in the pub!I normally wear an 8 but needed a 7 as the 8's were silly big. The 7s are generous (I can wear thick walking socks no bother) but comfortable in 'normal' socks.Laces are too long! Get some shorter ones and they are just about perfect everyday, multi-purpose shoes. When I was a school kid, I had a Saturday job working for a Doc Marten stockist but, as I was a first wave Mod (Italian shoes, mohair suits, Levis, etc), I never had a pair of Doc Martens; now, over half a century later, I have bought my first pair.Look like the same good quality manufacture I remember and are roomy and comfortable, on my big, wide, size 13 feet.Well impressed, so far, but they are going to take some getting used to.The reason they are going to take some getting used to is because they are so light, amazingly so - when I first tried them on, I was walking around as if I was moon walking. The first pair of Doc's that I have had, that have not been needed tobe broken in.Worn them straight out of the box...The boots are a tad on the large size for the size but as I've got broad feet they fit fine.I wanted to waterproof them so I went to a cobbler who recommend dubbing or clear polish or the easy option the waterproof spray which I did,the boots now have a waxed leather look with which I'am happy with.A very comfortable pair of boots....?
