First yes it is real leather! So it is not the lightest bag. Real full grain leather is usually a little heavier than a full real canvas bag and nice easy to grab zippers. It not only looks nice but it is also very functional too! Lots of roomy pockets (I love all the pockets that I can compartmentalize my things into) and i get complimented on my bag. One could squawk a little at the price, but it is again real premium leather and it has a nice dye and it will last for years to come. It is a little stiff out of the box and the bag, but it will eventually loosen up and soften up some.
