I really wanted to like this daypack. I have a 50L pack for camping/backpacking, and a small hydration pack for running around town. I needed something in the middle for dayhikes. I have heard good things about Alps Mountaineering so I decided to try out this Canyon 30. I received the pack on time and decided to load it up with gear to test it out.Pros:material quality, Unique thoughtful design features, generous capacityCon:I loaded up the pack and adjusted the hip belt, shoulder straps, sternum strap, and load lifters. Something didn't feel right. The back of the pack has absolutely no rigidity/structure. there was no support for the load. I don't necessarily need a contoured frame, but at least some rigid foam would be nice. The pack would collapse and fold over at its center while on my back- very uncomfortable especially with all my gear. I was disappointed because I loved many of the features- rain cover, hidden daisy chain, unique main compartment zipper etc. I guess maybe this was done to save weight, but at a size like 30L there has to be some structure to the pack (unless its labeled as a stuff sack). Besides that, it seems to be a well-made pack, but I never tested it on a hike. I have returned the bag and will try to find another daypack.
