I already bought the Outdoor Research Men's Transcendent Hoodie (size L) and loved it. So I got this Sweater in a medium - and fits like a glove. Below is the review for the Hoodie, so it's pretty much exact:Probably my favorite coat as it wear it daily, not just for hiking. I'm on the shorter, less "athletic" builds reviewing on here, standing 5'8" and 170lbs so I went with the large as most of the people in my height range labeled themselves as "thin" or "athletic" builds. I've got a little extra winter padding in the belly range, so I went with the large and it fits a little big to be honest - but works nice for layering. I could have went with a medium, but I don't think I would wear more than a t-shirt underneath - I feel a medium an two sub layers wouldn't be comfortable. But a large and 2 layers is perfect. I usually go out with a T and just this coat when the temps are around 20-40F out. Sub 20F, I add a layer like a Mountain Hard Ware thin mid between the T-Shirt and OR and am quite toasty. I've been out sub-zero with just those layers and was fine as long as I was moving. The build of the coat is awesome - I really feel like I am walking around with a sleeping bag around me. The zippers are super durable and the material is pretty tough. I wouldn't dive into a thorn patch though - probably rip it all up. The weight - just amazing. Doesn't feel like you're wearing a coat when it is on and plenty of room in the shoulders. I'm a photographer, so I need good arm movement and this has it. The pockets are deep - especially the Napoleonic one. I shove my phone in there and it usually sits by my armpit - keeping it warm when the temps really drop. You also get giant map pockets on the inside of the coat. I mean, these are huge!If you're thinking about this one, I can't recommend it enough. Just an awesome layer / coat that you really can use every day.I rarely, if ever, write product reviews. I'll give credit when credit is due though. At first I was very skeptical of all the glowing reviews this jacket has. In fact, if it weren't for OR's amazing reputation, I may have kept shopping. When the jacket arrived, and I first felt it in my hands, I felt a sense of disappointment. The jacket felt too lightweight to provide any real value in below freezing temperatures. A few days later I decided to give it a test. I headed up a 12 mile slog, with a 40lb pack, in single digit temperatures (f), navigating downed trees, and breaking trail in 9" of new snow all the way. A mile or two in I took my beanie off and my forehead continued dripping sweat. For my core though, lowering the zipper a few inches was all the additional ventilation I needed. Although I was starting to overheat it was obvious to me that my single T-shirt underneath was as dry as when I left the house. This jacket breathes amazingly well! The true test came when I stopped at the 6 mile mark to take a short break. I wondered how cold I would get sitting still for awhile. The beanie went back on within a minute or two as my shaved head began to freeze. As for my core... Well.... the jacket must have magical properties or something... because, when I stopped moving, my temperature stayed the same coziness it had been as I was ripping through calories on the trail. Of course, I had to zip it back up to achieve that, but still! Dang!!! With every other jacket I've owned I would be transitioning between layers in those changing conditions. All I had to do with this jacket was slide the zipper a few inches up or down! If you're on the fence about buying this jacket, get down from that darn fence and just buy it! You won't be sorry!I am actually very impressed with this "sweater". It's deceptively warm given how lightweight the material is. I have worn it outside in 10-30 degree temperatures without any significant layering underneath and my torso has stayed warm. It's not intended to be a heavy duty winter jacket, but I've found it can be worn alone comfortably within reason.I went with the Earth/Cafe color, which actually falls somewhere between olive green and light brown. I am 5'11" and 180+ lbs. A size Medium fits me perfectly. It is a slim cut, but I have experienced no restriction of movement. The cuffs are elastic and stretch a bit. The fleece lined collar is a simple but nice touch. The hand pockets zip open and are sufficiently warm. There's also an inconspicuous pocket on the chest. When you need to, the "sweater" can be compressed down into one of its pockets serving as a stuff sack. Good for hiking, camping, or backpacking trips when space matters. The color on the jacket is consistent. There are no stains or blotches as was the case for at least one of the other reviewers. Also, I have not experienced any noteworthy loss of feathers. The seams appear well stitched and overall the product strikes me as being well made. The only two negatives I have experienced is that the "sweater" is water resistant, not waterproof, and it can actually get pretty warm indoors. I find I feel the need to take it off a fair amount of the time even in winter when I'm on the train, in the car, or out and about. Also, because of how warm it is, a lightweight shell ends up being your only option to wear over it when the weather turns. I carry my OR Helium II in my commuter pack just in case and that suffices.Estoy muy satisfecho con esta compra.La chamarra es muy ligera y muy abrigadora.Hasta hoy la he usado en climas no muy fríos, unos 10 grados, aunque con viento y me he sentido muy confortable.También se comprime fácilmente y ocupa poco espacio en mi mochila.Todo en esta prenda luce de excelente calidad.I love outdoor research product and have bought several jackets. But I was very disappointed after opening this one up because it had 3 to 5 very small snags or holes in the sweater and was already losing feathers. I was very excited about the price but then I learned, after calling outdoor research for a warranty claim, that their Infinite Guarantee doesn't apply when you order their product from Amazon because Amazon is not an authorized reseller for OR product. Grateful for Amazon's hassle free return process though because that's what I had to use just a few minutes after opening the box.Excelente chamarra con relleno de plumas, super abrigada y ligera, se comprime dentro de sus propio bolsillo, muy práctica para llevar de viaje y a mejor precio que la competencia.Pero la talla viene un poco reducidaMe gusta el detalle de tener bolsa frontal para guardar sobretodo cámara o celularUna excelente chamarra a un increible precio. 1/4 del precio que tiene en USA.
